Don't get me wrong, Utah is beautiful, but California in May is amazing. We took a much needed family vacation to Disney Land and the beach last week. We spent two days at each and had a great time. The weather was perfect. It was in the 80's most of the week, and we only waited in line about 20 minutes on average for a ride. I thought I was dreaming.
We did make one mistake with Zach, however... We decided to go on Splash Mountain for one of our first rides. Yea, that wasn't a good idea. There are several drops and a rather large one. I was sitting behind Zach in the log. I swear his little heart was going to beat out of his chest. He was completely stiff and just cried and cried. I have never seen a child more afraid of anything in his life. It was like he was at the doctor's office ready to get a shot. Of course he survived the ride, but the rest of the day, he kept asking me to ask the ride attendant on each ride if there were any "frops". That is how he says drops. Poor kid. He is definitely our tender little one, but I love him for that. Other than that, they loved it. It is fun to watch them experience new things, well, most things that is.
Huntington Beach is by far my favorite beach that I have been to in a long time. It is a beautiful sandy beach that goes on forever. The kids loved running and jumping over the waves and just being covered in sand. They were so happy there. The water was freezing, but they didn't care. We collected amazing seashells. They were perfect and not broken. Some were so big tht they looked sike ones you would buy in a store. We even saw dolphins jumping out of the water from the shore! It was amazing. There were probably five or six of them just playing. I have never seen them so close to the beach before. Loved it. I think the kids loved the beach even more than Disney Land. The beach is free, so go figure.
The world needs more uplifting quotes. I thought you all would enjoy this one... "I am no longer afraid of storms, for I am learning to sail my own ship."

so glad you guys had fun!! You really deserved it. We went to Huntington too, and although we loved it we didn't find any cool sea shells or see dolphines! That story is so cute/sad about Zach and splash mountain. I can totally see Boston being the same way even when he is older. Your kids are so so cute.
I would have loved to see the dolphins and Zach's little face on Splash Mountain! I could have told you not to take him on that ride! poor kid, he's so cute! I love your kids. I'm glad you're home now...I got bored without you!
Someone (I won't say names...Timette) told me to take Rachel on Tower of Terror, yeah right! I saw way too many kids that went on that ride and came off totally ruined! We thought we'd save that one for when it can be her idea and then she can't hate us for the rest of her life. =) How's your weekend going? Have you danced naked in your living room yet? That's what I would be doing if I had my house to myself. =)
P.S. this is Maria not Max. (although I think he does dance naked when I'm not around)
I love Huntington Beach!! Your kids looked like they had so much fun! Yeah for you guys.
PS Maria--Madisyn said to ride Tower of Terror, it is her favorite ride, just ask.
